Dealer’s Dice gives one defensive die a purpose at the moment a defense fails. In Hot Fix 1.0.4, the developer says that when an enemy reaches the deadline, Tsunami Dice is destroyed instead of a heart being lost. It also triggers a tsunami that pushes enemies back.

The basic task is to stop invading entities reaching the end of a table, arranging dice and deciding whether to accept or reroll them. Tsunami Dice changes what reaching that boundary can mean. The breach still consumes something, but the stated payment is the die rather than the heart.

The pushback gives the sacrifice a second consequence: it acts on enemies that remain. That is a reason to consider a die beyond its contribution to ordinary attacks. The source does not document placement requirements or how multiple Tsunami Dice interact, so it cannot justify a particular board arrangement.

A negative Simplified Chinese account, posted October 8 with 134 minutes at review, describes repeatedly collecting and redeploying dice around boss waves as tedious. That is a criticism of the input work rather than the Tsunami rule itself, but it usefully separates an interesting defensive role from the effort of maintaining a board.

The same patch makes Dot-Buff Dice’s Piercing buff apply to dice whose pip value is equal to or lower than its own. A higher number can therefore affect eligibility for a relationship between dice, while Tsunami Dice changes the cost of an enemy getting through. If the table defense appeals, examine what a die does for its neighbors and at the deadline, as well as the number on its face.

Sources & context

Hot Fix 1.0.4 describes Tsunami Dice and Dot-Buff Dice. Their placement, availability, stacking and present balance were not tested. The source’s maximum-HP damage formula is not assigned an unstated reference value here. The selected negative account was read in full; recommendation, review-time minutes and unknown-build limits are retained. No prevalence or current-mode outcome is inferred.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
