Incremental Infinity sends your number back to one while keeping the upgrades

The number in Incremental Infinity is also the body on screen. The developer says it represents health and size, then sends it back to one on defeat while preserving upgrades. The visible growth and the retained investment are advertised to have different lifetimes.
That matters when a large number disappears. A defeat is not described as wiping the skill tree, so restarting does not mean the same thing as returning without the selected upgrades. The page does not itemize every resource or explain the separate Ascend reset, however; defeat retention should not become a promise that all currencies survive every reset.
Firing is automatic, with interaction focused on the skill tree. The stated decision therefore concerns what growth to support rather than manually aiming every attack. Size and health sharing a number makes growth visible, but the listing does not establish a hitbox rule or prove that being larger is always safer.
The useful boundary to recognize is what actually went back to one. If the reset is the moment you usually lose interest in an idler, this one explicitly preserves upgrades through ordinary defeat. Investigate whether rebuilding the current number with that retained foundation is the part of progression you enjoy.
Sources & context
The official description establishes defeat retention but not every resource boundary or the separate Ascend reset. Bigger health/size is not treated as evidence of a larger hitbox or universally safer combat.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
