Island Restoration makes job size a choice without advertising a race. Its official listing offers quick cleaning contracts on small islands or larger islands requiring more effort for bigger rewards. Elsewhere it specifies zero timers. The tradeoff concerns the job you take on, not a stated deadline for finishing it.

That matters when deciding what kind of session you want. A larger reward does not by itself make the larger contract the more efficient choice: the description supplies neither exact payouts nor completion times. It does identify a useful distinction between a compact cleanup and a more substantial restoration commitment.

Tools can be upgraded, and the developer says this speeds cleaning. That can change the work, but it does not remove the initial choice of scale. If your pleasure comes from finishing a manageable patch rather than maximizing output under pressure, the small contract has a reason to exist beyond being a stepping stone to the largest island.

Sources & context

Contract size, relative rewards and zero timers are developer descriptions. No exact duration, reward efficiency or randomizer variety was measured.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
