Little Ghosties puts an income button in the terrarium and denies you the obvious click. The official description says the ghosts can press it, but you cannot. Your role is to care for the creatures that perform the action.

A hungry Wisp presses the button for Button Currency, according to the developer’s step-by-step account. That currency buys food, toys and terrariums. Happier ghosts are described as working harder, making care part of the stated economy rather than a decoration beside a button you can operate yourself.

New ghosts use a different route. Growing ghosts produce Ghost Slime, which you gather with a Hoover and exchange for eggs. Button income supports the terrarium and its inhabitants; collected slime expands the collection. The description does not give a conversion between the currencies, so those routes should not be collapsed into one generic upgrade balance.

The relationship gives this desktop companion a particular appeal: the creature earning the money is also the one you feed and watch grow. There is no documented happiness formula or growth schedule here, and no basis to promise that leaving the application closed produces more slime. The supported division of labor is already clear. The ghosts do the pressing; you decide what their currency buys and collect what their growth produces.

Sources & context

The official description distinguishes Button Currency from Ghost Slime and explicitly prevents player button presses. It does not give happiness formulas, growth durations or egg-exchange rates. No offline-production or neglect penalty is assumed.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
