A missing moth in Mothkeep need not mean staring harder at the same patch of scenery. The developer says placed flowers, sweets and other treats attract moths, and the shop offers hints about where particular ones prefer to appear. You can prepare the search space as well as inspect it.

Spotting remains its own task. Hovering reveals subtle hints, followed by a moth-spotting interaction that the developer describes as requiring timing and patience. An attraction item helps bring the subject into the search; it is not advertised as an automatic journal completion button.

The journal also distinguishes growth stages, from eggs to adults. Finding a winged moth therefore does not describe every observation the game asks of you. That makes a missing entry a more specific question than whether a species has ever appeared.

This is a bounded collection rather than an endless sanctuary. The developer estimates one to two hours and says the finished game was shorter than originally planned; they chose to retain that focus rather than stretch it. A brief search can still give habitat preparation a purpose, provided the appeal is completing these observations rather than maintaining a long-running ecosystem.

A positive French recommendation posted October 6, with 74 minutes at review, says the writer completed it in about an hour and a quarter and would welcome explanations of some basic terminology. That is one reported completion, not a promised duration. It puts the small scope beside a useful newcomer question: whether the journal also explains the terms used to describe what you found.

Sources & context

The official description establishes attraction and stage collection, not a complete species-to-item guide or guaranteed arrival time. Biological accuracy has not been independently audited. Selected recent accounts were read in full for a specific qualification; recommendations, dates and minutes are retained in the claim record. Build and patch correspondence remain unknown, and the sample cannot measure prevalence.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
