Nighthawks makes hunting raise the cost of being noticed

Hunting in Nighthawks is advertised as an activity that leaves a trace. In Patch 1.2, posted October 8 UTC, the developer says hunting now adds Suspicion and Infamy. Searching for an opportunity to feed can create another problem to manage afterward.
The same announcement clarifies the action itself: hunting means wandering the city in search of opportunities, rather than selecting a location and expecting to travel straight there. The destination belongs to the search’s outcome. That distinction matters before treating it as an ordinary map shortcut.
Suspicion has stated consequences. The developer says a high level makes arrest or being caught feeding riskier and brings tougher enemies in random city encounters. A friendly contact on the force can help lower it. No values or optimal hunt frequency are supplied, but the relationship is concrete: another hunt can change the conditions of later travel.
Those systemic consequences should stay separate from claims about narrative freedom. A positive English recommendation posted October 9, with 2,380 minutes at review, loves the writing while describing many choices as cosmetic or convergent. The writer distinguishes a few large decisions from smaller variations and still finds the story worth following. That account cannot establish every branch, but it prevents the existence of a risk meter from becoming proof of an endlessly malleable narrative.
The useful attraction is a vampire’s appetite producing exposure. If that appeals, attend to what hunting changes in the city as well as what it supplies to the character. The next outing is not merely another destination; it may begin under the attention earned on the previous one.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
