The shared home in Our Brief Eternity contains people with different amounts of future. The official synopsis places ordinary office worker Lin Xiaocou with a vampire and a witch, then asks whether he will accept eternal life to remain their companion or cherish the finite present. The relationship question reaches beyond whether the housemates get along.

Shopping, games and late-night conversation are the developer’s examples of the daily life that draws them together. Those small routines give the larger question a context: what does continuing this life together mean when one person’s ordinary lifespan is different? They are synopsis details, not scenes GameMargin has watched unfold.

The advertised choice also contains a word worth keeping: risk. The description does not specify the price of accepting eternity, so that risk cannot be filled with an invented sacrifice or ending. Nor does the claim of four endings establish a simple one-to-one route for each answer to the promotional question.

Read the premise for the tension it actually offers. Would becoming a companion for longer justify changing the life that began the relationship, or would a finite promise carry its own value? Those are the questions the developer invites you to follow. The attraction is a household story in which staying together may change what a lifetime means.

Sources & context

The dilemma is the developer’s synopsis, not a verified menu option or a revealed route outcome. No specific cost of eternal life, ending mapping or actual completion time is established.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
