SCREENSIDE FISHER says the bite can wait for you
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

SCREENSIDE FISHER promises not to turn every bite into a summons. Its official listing says the character signals a fish, then the fish waits until you are ready. Reeling it in uses a timing minigame, but the developer places that interaction at the moment you choose to return.
Those are different uses of time. A prompt that waits accommodates another task; a timing minigame asks for attention once you engage. The latter does not cancel the advertised value of the former, and the former does not mean the fishing itself is entirely automatic.
For a game occupying a corner of the desktop, that distinction is the point worth investigating. You may want an occasional active diversion without having to treat its arrival as urgent. SCREENSIDE FISHER’s useful promise is not that it never asks you to act, but that the fish can respect your turn to be busy.
Sources & context
The waiting behavior is explicit developer wording. The timing minigame is a separate advertised demand; no input window, focus behavior or uninterrupted work session was tested.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
