Spirit Island can add land without adding a spirit to start there
PREVIEW · Official digital developer description and App Store listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

Spirit Island’s digital developer describes a way to enlarge the problem without adding a spirit to occupy the new land. Among the Jagged Earth play options, an extra island board can be added with no spirit starting on it. There is more territory to defend, without a matching new starting presence.
That makes map size a different difficulty choice from simply changing an adversary. The developer says the extra board’s difficulty effect grows with the game’s existing difficulty. It is not presented as a fixed, equally gentle increase in every setup.
This is an expansion option, not something the free iOS tutorial is established to include. For players interested in configuring a cooperative challenge, the useful question is whether to stretch responsibility across additional land. A larger island can ask more of the spirits already there, rather than merely make room for another one.

This preview concerns the developer’s published Jagged Earth play option, not a claim that the free iOS tutorial includes it. Expansion access and the installed iOS version were not tested. Difficulty effects are the developer’s description, without a measured win-rate claim.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
