Starlathe / LEAVE / HAUL

Starlathe's miners keep hauling after you leave the sector.

PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

Starlathe says its galaxy does not wait. The listing puts miners on asteroids, transporters between stations and war fleets over territory, simulated across 150 sectors whether you are watching or not. The same page says you can leave your own miners, haulers and escorts on those jobs, up to a dreadnought at the head of a line.

The developer also says nothing is spawned from thin air: a shipment travels, a wreck used to be a ship, and prices move because goods did. That is a claim about the model, not a route we have flown. What it changes, if it holds, is the meaning of an exit. Flying to a fogged sector is also a decision to stop supervising the one you left.

One ship fires yellow beams at a larger ship. The frame is labeled Work in progress.

Steam's screenshot shows a single exchange of fire and is stamped "Work in progress." It does not show 150 sectors, a haul, or a price. Official Steam screenshot; supplied by the developer.

The jobs on offer are ordinary space-sim work, and the listing is specific about the board they share. You can mine and refine, buy among a supply chain of over 50 goods, hunt pirates or become one, and build weapons, modules and ships through refining and production chains. Fleet battles, the page says, are fought ship to ship with turrets, rockets, beams and point defense. Prices react to supply and demand. The law notices smuggling and piracy, and reputation follows you. Stations die, with evacuations, wrecks and loot fields, and factions rebuild them. Territory changes hands. Fog of war hides graveyards, abandoned sectors and wild space past the gates. The page counts 22 skies.

Co-op puts up to three friends in that same galaxy. Each pilot has a ship, a wallet, a fleet and missions. Exploration is shared. The page says nothing you fire can hurt one another, and that every pilot is saved with the galaxy. A sector you left can be worked by your miner or changed by someone else’s haul. Both are changes the listing claims will be there when you return.

The picture worth testing against that paragraph is a small one. Set a miner on a field, take the haul somewhere else, and come back. The listing says the sector will have spent the time without you. The stamped screenshot cannot confirm it. It shows one exchange of fire, labeled work in progress, and none of the 150 sectors, the price, or the other pilot.

Sources & context

Store page rechecked October 9. Sector count, the live-simulation claim, the supply chain, station wrecks, reputation and the co-op rules are quoted from that page. The screenshot is shown only as the image Steam supplies; its own stamp says work in progress, so it is not evidence of the current 150-sector model. No player reviews were used.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
