Sublight puts a firing arc around the upgrade list

Sublight adds a directional qualification to its arsenal: mind your firing arcs. The developer’s description invites combinations of turrets and passive upgrades, naming autocannons and piercing railguns, then makes coverage part of that invitation.
That means a weapon’s attack description is only one question to bring to the build screen. Where can it fire? The listing does not expose arc angles, mounting controls or turning rates, so it cannot establish a maneuver that will reliably keep an enemy under fire. It does make those details worth inspecting before treating another turret as damage available in every direction.
Hull selection adds a stated difference too. Ships have integrated systems and abilities, with alternative loadouts. The useful comparison is therefore between complete arrangements of hull and weapons, rather than weapon names alone.
If you enjoy assembling a battleship, look for how clearly Sublight explains what each arrangement can cover. The firing arc is the consequential complication: a gun in the build still needs a target it can face.
Sources & context
The Steam description establishes firing arcs but not their angles, mounting controls, turn rates or whether every turret has the same restriction. No particular maneuver or coverage combination was tested.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
