Sunset Summit promises another attempt after a fall: the official description says you instantly respawn, with checkpoints scattered along the route. The same description gives the group a destination to reach before sunset. Safety from a long restart and a reason to keep climbing are presented together.

That is a more useful distinction than simply calling the climb forgiving. A checkpoint concerns where progress can resume; the sunset objective concerns what the group is trying to accomplish. The description does not specify how its clock behaves during a fall or what missing sunset does, so it cannot establish a penalty the player should optimize around.

Helping another climber has named tools. Ropes and item-delivery drones are advertised for assisting fellow hikers, while proximity chat and walkie-talkies provide communication. Those are concrete ways the group is invited to cooperate, without proof that a particular rescue or delivered item saves a set amount of time.

The game also advertises offline solo play, so the presence of up to eight players is an option rather than evidence that a full crew is required. If you want a cooperative ascent, inspect how the checkpoint and sunset rules fit together. The consequential promise is room to retry inside a shared trip that still has somewhere to get to.

Sources & context

The official description states checkpoints, instant respawn and a before-sunset goal. It does not establish whether the clock advances through falls, a failure penalty, checkpoint sharing or drone capacity. Advertised playtime is not adopted as observed duration.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
