The Bird of the North gives each character one sentence and asks for a timeline
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

The Bird of the North advertises a deliberately small speaking allowance: one sentence per character in each vision. Its official description then asks you to complete an investigation board using characters, locations, clues and the visions’ timeline. A sentence arrives with less context than the finished account requires.
That gives comparison between scenes a specific job. The statement is something to place within a chronology, not merely something to remember in isolation. A hypothetical clue might mean something different before or after another event; that is an illustration of chronological reasoning, not a scene or solution from the game.
The appeal is in reconstructing the context the speakers do not deliver for you. If you enjoy a deduction game that asks how fragments belong together, the combination of short statements and a timeline board explains where The Bird of the North expects the work to happen.
Sources & context
The one-sentence limit and chronological investigation board are explicit. No actual clue, answer, character motive or revelation is supplied as though observed in play.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
