The One Fish gives a dead friend a way to push back

A dead teammate in The One Fish can still put an enemy somewhere less convenient. In Update 2.1, the developer gives dead players who have turned into fish a water-spit action. Left click releases a burst every three seconds to push enemies around.
The living group’s task is to fish together and feed an increasingly hungry creature. A death therefore changes the available contribution: the announced fish action helps the survivors deal with enemies rather than establishing that the dead player can keep doing every original job.
The three-second interval makes the assistance a repeated opportunity, not an unlimited continuous shove. The source gives no distance or force, so a guaranteed rescue maneuver would be invented. What it does support is continued participation with a specific action after the role has changed.
Update 2.1 also adds rods with different stated purposes: one makes fishing quicker and more consistent, while another raises the chance of a rain event. Those are living players’ equipment choices, distinct from the dead fish’s supporting action. If cooperative survival appeals, notice what a failed player can still do for the team. The next useful contribution may be moving an enemy rather than landing another catch.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
