DISPLAY / TRADE
Birb
Birb asks whether your best fish belongs in the aquarium or in a buff
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

The fish in Birb have a job offer. Hwonze’s official listing says you can show off your best catches in an aquarium or trade them for buffs. Fishing is therefore more than another counter beside the popcorn: a catch can be something to keep or something to use.
The Fishdex gives collecting its own distinctions, including rarities, shiny variants and weight records. Those labels make the aquarium choice intelligible. A fish can matter because of what it represents in a collection, even before you know whether its trade would be useful. The listing supplies no exchange values, so rarity alone cannot tell you which choice is efficient.
That is the small tension worth noticing beneath the cosmic-bird premise. Birb invites you to value a catch as a specimen and as a source of a buff. Before trading the fish you are proudest of, find out what you are actually getting—and whether you would rather keep looking at it.
Sources & context
The aquarium’s display-versus-buff choice is explicit. The listing does not give trade values or establish which buffs are best. Recent player reports include progression and platform concerns; this narrow preview does not assess the full idle-game progression.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
