Black Cat Book Club’s cat is not simply posing beside a book. In the official description, deciphering glyphs consumes Focus, reveals their meaning and advances progress through a tome. Each book grants its own upgrade. Reading has a resource cost and a promised consequence.
That makes Focus the useful detail to watch when considering this desktop companion. The library can be moved and resized, but making it smaller on your desktop does not explain how its reading progresses. The relevant missing connection is how Focus becomes available relative to the glyphs that spend it; the listing does not give that rate.
The attraction is a cat whose attention has something specific to accomplish. If you want the reading to feel like more than an animated backdrop, investigate the relationship between Focus, deciphering and finishing a book. That relationship will tell you more about the companion’s rhythm than the number of cushions in the tower.
