BREAK / EMPOWER
Chest Buster
Chest Buster makes breaking the chest your attack on the enemy
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

The thing you hit in Chest Buster is the treasure chest, not the enemy. The developer says destroying it releases items that immediately increase combat power, without inventory management. Opening the loot source is the advertised way to conduct the fight.
Chest quality becomes part of that relationship. Higher-level chests drop more powerful items, while skill-tree upgrades can increase chest-breaking speed, strength and the number of chests. Improving the target and improving the means of destroying it are two different routes into the same power supply. No particular drop effect or damage formula is documented here.
Defeat has a stated persistence boundary: skills and destructive weapons remain after falling in battle. The source does not extend that promise to every dropped item. Keeping the chest-breaking tools is different from preserving all the power they produced during the last attempt.
Completing a mission is also advertised as permanently removing its enemy and awarding permanent rewards. That gives repetition a potential change to the opposition, although the exact mission conditions are unstated.
If the loop appeals, examine the chest as both target and supply. You are improving what you can break and what breaking it can give you. The useful twist is that collecting the loot is not a separate pause after combat—the developer makes it the way combat gains its force.
Sources & context
The store establishes the chest-to-power relationship but gives no item effect, level formula or mission condition. Permanent skills and weapons are not assumed to mean every temporary drop survives defeat; reward odds were not measured.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
