Eclesiar has announced a way to get a recovery into the battle queue. The October 7 developer notice schedules it for October 15, 2026; it is a planned rule as of this October 9 check. A government can prepare an eligible recovery of a provisionally occupied region while another battle continues, reserving its Gold cost.

The distinction is priority, not intervention. The current battle keeps its normal result. If an eligible occupation and war remain afterward, the reserved recovery starts next, ahead of a new third-party attack. A cancelled or invalid preparation returns the reservation.

That makes the next occupier consequential to a decision made before the current fight ends. Preparing a recovery secures a conditional place in the sequence, not a guaranteed battle against the country currently holding the region. For players interested in persistent territorial strategy, the useful question is how an announced protection changes coordination between owner, occupier and third party.

Sources & context

This previews a rule announced October 7 to take effect October 15, 2026. It was not active as of the October 9 source check. Reservations, eligibility and refunds are announced behavior, not observed results; permanent annexation is explicitly outside this recovery protection.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
