ENYO’s hook and shield do not advertise an ordinary damage race. The official description says enemies can only be defeated by pushing or pulling them into lava pits or spiked walls. The destination is part of the attack.

That turns a hazard into something you want to read from both sides. It threatens movement, but it is also where an opponent needs to go. Rather than ask only how close you can get, the rule invites you to ask which direction would put the enemy somewhere fatal.

A limited set of actions per turn complicates the setup. The listing does not give hook range or enemy exceptions, so a nearby pit cannot be treated as a guaranteed solution. Position, available actions and the hazard must actually line up.

For players who enjoy making a battlefield do the hitting, this is a sharp reason to investigate ENYO. Look past the enemy to the space behind it. The hook’s interesting question is where the pull ends.

Sources & context

The iOS description establishes indirect defeat and limited turn actions. Enemy immunities, hook range and action costs are not supplied, so no complete move sequence or universal kill is asserted.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
