Galvatein: Adventurers’ Guild gives the person behind the desk a problem the adventurer cannot settle by saying the job is done. The developer says clients often do not know their monsters. You must infer the intended target from the quest details, then decide whether the submitted evidence matches it.

Loot, bestiaries, maps and licenses are the advertised tools. Questions to adventurers add another source of information, including what they know about monsters and missing people. The receptionist’s work is therefore a comparison between an imperfect request, a claim of completion and material you can inspect.

Imagine a claim that sounds convincing until its location conflicts with a reference entry. That is an illustration of why cross-checking matters, not a case observed in the game. The listing gives the verification method, but it does not justify inventing a monster, clue or correct verdict.

The developer also invites exceptions when an adventurer has circumstances you cannot ignore, while warning that your freedom depends on the guild continuing to run smoothly. The exact penalties remain unestablished here. First investigate whether reading the evidence is satisfying; then ask how much room the guild gives you to act against a verdict you believe is technically correct.

Sources & context

Quest verification tools and the possibility of exceptions are developer descriptions. No actual case, monster identification, penalty schedule or consequence of bending a rule was tested.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
