How to Grow Your Sausage makes ordinary inputs part of its fictional feeding routine. The developer’s description says keystrokes, clicks and button presses feed a sentient desktop sausage, whose growth unlocks upgrades, items and outfits.

That puts the initial question outside a conventional clicker’s upgrade screen: which inputs does the toy count, and while doing what? The description does not document input scope or recording behavior, so it cannot establish how the desktop integration works or how it handles privacy. The premise is supported; the implementation still deserves inspection.

Prestige then offers a stated exchange. You reset part of the progress for permanent multipliers and points toward exclusive upgrades. That gives growth two destinations: developing the present sausage or converting some progress into a lasting advantage. Exactly what is lost is not listed.

If an input-fed desktop toy is the draw, examine those two boundaries before committing to its routine: what feeds it, and what a reset takes away. The sausage’s absurdity is plain. The useful decision is whether its connection to your inputs and its lasting upgrades make the growth interesting to maintain.

Sources & context

The Steam description establishes input-fed growth and partial prestige resets. It does not document input scope, permissions, recording behavior or exactly what resets. No privacy or background-operation claim is inferred. The second prestige layer’s formula is not established.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
