INSANIO
INSANIO lets you recover the machine but lose its pilot for good
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing and one selected player report · Not played · Sources checked Oct 10, 2026. Our method.

The vehicle and the pilot have different futures after a failed mission in INSANIO. The developer says lost equipment can be retrieved from the battlefield, while fallen pilots are gone for good. Recovering the machine is not advertised as recovering the person who drove it.
That consequence follows an explicit commitment point. You prepare weapons, vehicles and pilots, select a mission and choose a deployment area. From deployment onward, the game is hands-off. The location and loadout belong to decisions made before you watch the squad try to carry them out.
Pilot traits affect behavior, according to the description. No individual trait is named, so it would be premature to describe a specific driver as reckless or a particular pairing as dependable. What matters to the stated rule is that permanent loss can remove a source of behavior, not merely another interchangeable vehicle slot.
The retrieval promise also lacks costs and conditions. It does not establish that every module survives or that the next mission automatically returns everything. It distinguishes the equipment’s possible recovery from the pilot’s stated permanence.
A negative English report posted September 21, with 85 minutes at review, says the writer could not understand why troops sometimes died immediately after deployment and wanted a tutorial or guide. Their question about a pilot crashing is speculation, not an established crash mechanic. The early account identifies a practical limit to the preparation appeal: watching a loss is less useful when its cause is unclear. It cannot establish how readable every mission or current build is.
If you enjoy preparing an autonomous squad, examine who goes in the vehicle before choosing where it lands. The useful tension is making a decision you will then have to watch. A machine may come back into the collection; the pilot who gave it a particular way of acting may not.
Sources & context
The developer states the intervention and persistence boundaries but names no pilot trait, retrieval cost or success probability. A destroyed vehicle is not assumed to preserve all modules automatically; no mission was observed. One english negative report posted September 21, at 85 minutes, was read in full and selected for the central preparation question. Build and patch correspondence remain unknown.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
