Monster Alchemy
Monster Alchemy gives the creature a working life beyond combat
PREVIEW · Official Steam listing · Not played · Sources checked Oct 9, 2026. Our method.

Monster Alchemy gives its created creatures jobs as well as battles. The official description says they can mine ore, chop wood and craft potions. Their gathering skills level up, making them more efficient. A monster can consequently develop through its working role, not only through its place in a combat team.
That makes creating a creature relevant to the resource side of the adventure. Ingredients are combined to synthesize monsters, while monsters themselves are tools for gathering and crafting. The description does not identify a particular self-sustaining recipe, but it does give the creature a purpose between encounters: it can contribute to the supplies the player manages.
Fusion complicates how to read that development. Monsters can be combined into new species, yet the description does not say whether a resulting creature retains its predecessors’ gathering proficiency. It would be premature to claim that replacing a trained worker improves production simply because the new species is stronger.
If this system appeals, inspect that inheritance rule before treating every fusion as an obvious upgrade. Monster Alchemy’s useful promise is a creature with more than one kind of value: what it contributes in a fight and the efficiency it develops at work. The relationship between those roles is worth understanding before sacrificing one for the other.
Sources & context
The official description establishes work assignments, gathering-skill growth and fusion. It does not specify assignment limits, work rates or whether fusion retains a creature’s trained gathering skills. No replacement efficiency or inheritance result is assumed.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
