Rivage gives Miranda a system called K9 that can log discoveries and retain certain puzzle solutions. Those are two useful kinds of persistence: keeping information available and preserving some work already done.

The setting makes the distinction worth asking about. Miranda wakes alone aboard the A.R.E.S. station, where the developer describes displaced objects, newly unlocked doors and puzzles involving gravity, magnetism and time. A note about a discovery and a retained solution need not do the same job when you return to a changing place.

The word “certain” matters. It does not support a promise that every solved puzzle stays solved, or that revisiting a room never involves repetition. Nor does this description establish exactly what triggers a reset. K9 supplies a concrete question for gameplay evidence to answer, rather than permission to invent a time-loop walkthrough.

If repeating mechanical work is what puts you off exploration puzzles, investigate which solutions K9 preserves. If collecting and connecting clues is the attraction, inspect how it records them. Both questions are more useful than assuming that a memory system automatically removes friction.

Sources & context

K9’s described functions are supported by the official listing. Its scope is explicitly “certain” solutions; no complete reset rule, retained-solution list or observed reduction in repetition was established.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
