Soul Chained puts a teammate at the other end of the weapon. The official description links the players with a chain that can coil around enemies, trip bosses, sling objects and clothesline groups. Positioning that weapon also involves the person attached to it.

That is the consequential complication of the co-op premise. The developer explicitly describes the chain tugging both players into trouble as well as enabling coordinated attacks. A useful shape against an enemy is not automatically a comfortable position for the partner. The tool you share also connects your movements.

Solo play preserves the attached-object problem rather than simply removing it. A massive glowing ball replaces the friend, and you drag, swing and fight with it through the tower. It changes what occupies the far end while keeping the chain central to movement and combat.

The description gives no tension threshold or executable boss-trip recipe. Its claims of deliberate combat and meaningful stamina do not prove that a particular repeated action works. What it does establish is a specific reason to investigate coordination: you are arranging a weapon whose endpoints matter. Before trying to throw the next enemy, notice where the other end will go.

Sources & context

The official description names chain uses and the solo substitution. It does not establish tension limits, damage values, exact boss vulnerability or networking reliability. The developer’s self-deprecating graphics and jank claims are not independent technical findings.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
