Solving a room in Submerge need not leave that room equally safe afterward. The developer’s released level update describes The Flooded Rooms: as you progress and restore systems, water continues rising and previously safe areas disappear beneath it.

The announced relationship is between ongoing progress and a changing environment. It does not say that every restored system causes a specified increase, so there is no supported instruction to avoid a particular switch. What it does establish is a reason to reconsider where the team can stand while working on the next puzzle.

The other added level, Below the Surface, begins fully flooded. The developer describes using air pockets while searching rooms and activating remaining systems. Finding a way forward and finding the next breath become separate navigation concerns. No oxygen duration or reliable route is provided in the source.

This gives the store’s cooperative escape premise a more concrete decision than simply “communicate with friends.” The useful thing to communicate may be where safe space remains, rather than only which puzzle object to operate. The store also allows solo play, so a team is an option rather than an invented requirement for these situations.

If the underwater escape appeals, watch what a solved step leaves available around you. Another open route is useful only alongside the conditions for reaching it. These levels advertise water as something that changes the next decision, rather than merely coloring the corridor blue.

Sources & context

The released update corroborates an earlier announcement that called these levels forthcoming. The source gives no rise rate, oxygen timer or route; team communication and puzzle execution were not tested.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
