A larger insect swarm in Tenebris: Terra Incognita is described as more than extra bodies. The developer’s account says chemical signals let the insects coordinate, strengthen and accelerate one another. More insects make each individual more dangerous.

That changes what an enemy count can mean in a turn-based fight. Counting targets is also an invitation to inspect the relationships among them. A creature’s threat may depend on the company it has, rather than only the properties attached to its own portrait.

The description gives no range, duration or removal rule for those effects. It would be unsupported to promise that killing any one insect immediately weakens all the others. The consequential question is which support effects the current group supplies and what can actually interrupt them.

If you enjoy choosing priorities within a squad fight, this is the specific reason to investigate Tenebris. Its advertised swarm complicates the usual comparison between individual targets: before deciding which insect looks most dangerous, examine what the others are doing for it.

Sources & context

The official description establishes mutual strengthening and acceleration without distances, durations, thresholds or a buff-removal rule. It does not prove that killing any insect instantly weakens every survivor. No combat or build was tested.

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
