THE EVIDENCE SO FAR

Removing enemy HP makes position the central question. Early Access plans and official screenshots do not establish balance or reliability.

Tower Lab gives enemies no HP. Your towers have to shove them off the map. The edge becomes part of the weapon. One small rule change, a very different reason to care about placement.

The game

The official Steam page describes a tower-defense sandbox where enemies have no health bars: towers remove them by pushing them off the map. Towers can affect one another, and changes to size or mass alter the physical interactions. The listing identifies Tower Lab as Early Access. Its planned additions should be read separately from the features described as available now.

What players report

We have not sampled individual Steam comments for this report, so we are not claiming a community consensus about how this mechanic feels in practice. The game file displays dated Steam statistics separately. Those counts can help describe audience response, but they do not explain the reasons behind it.

Our analysis

A hit has a destination as well as an effect. That changes the question from how much damage a tower deals to where it leaves an enemy for the next tower. An otherwise ordinary stretch of ground could become useful if it lines up a second shove. The edge is part of the arrangement, rather than background scenery.

The design possibility we find interesting is a defense assembled from relationships: this tower feeds that one, which finally makes the exit someone else’s problem. Yet a physics interaction also needs to be readable. A chain reaction is satisfying to plan only if the player can work out why it succeeded or failed. That is our interpretation of the premise, not a tested build recommendation.

What remains untested

We have not tested whether contraptions behave consistently across waves, how clearly mass changes are explained, or performance under heavy loads. A hands-on report should repeat the same setup, then change one placement and compare the outcome. Early Access makes version information especially important: a promising construction today is not proof of the eventual campaign’s depth.

Sources & context

One mechanic, the decision it creates, and a little dry humor.
